Hey Guys First post!!

Hey what's going on guys, Mik Beats here in person. Thought I'd tell about myself...myself...rather than that somewhat cheesy third person talk...Just bringing it down to a more personal level.

I was born on January 22, 1990 in the city of Jersey City, NJ then later raised in Edison, NJ. I grew up in a family of seven made up of my Mom, Dad, two younger brothers and sisters who I all truly love for supporting me in pursuing what I love most, music. If it weren't for my parents forcing me to practice the piano or my siblings giving me the hard truth of whether a song was a far miss rather than a hit, I don't know where I would be right now.

Playing the piano for eight years was a blessing. For eight years a very strict Russian teacher privately instructed me and I wouldn't have had it any other way. She gave me the motivation to practice and well...the fear if I didn't practice. When I was younger I hated playing those classical pieces. I wanted to play popular music, what I heard on the radio, or the songs I had on the weekly CD's I'd make. Eventually as I grew older, the things I learned with my instructor provided me the fundamentals to be able to play what I wanted to play. There was a point in my life where all I would do is bring my stereo near our upright piano and figure out to play what was coming out of the stereo. As time passed and my knowledge on music grew, I started to appreciate the classical pieces I once dreaded.

My ultimate love, producing songs, did not come overnight. It started back in 8th grade where my good friends loved to rap. As time passed I started to realize rapping was not exactly my forte so I just provided a beat for them to rap over. As I constantly "spitted" simple beats, I grew a love for the production in any song I would hear. At this point, I couldn't stop listening to the production and wanted to just make my own. I started with some Bootleg FL studio and Adobe Audition. As any beginner, I made simple beats with a kick, snare, high hat, and a one-finger melody. As time passed, I worked on perfecting my craft and getting equipment to improve my sound quality.

Presently, I attend the Berklee College Of Music in Boston for Music Production and Engineering. I try to make a track or song a day. To reach the success I want, I need to work hard everyday. The second I stop my hustle, is the second another person will get closer than me to my goal. There’s really nothing I see but the top and no one can tell me less. I believe if you set your mind right and work hard at something, there is no doubt you will reach that ultimate goal. Others have said it is a huge risk but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. Life is way too short to not try and do the “impossible”.
